Home Delivered Meals

Through our partnership with Meals on Wheels, our Home-Delivered Meals Program helps seniors stay healthy, safe, and connected in their own homes. Each delivery brings not only a nutritious meal but also a friendly visit and a quick safety check—providing comfort and security to those we serve. Meals on Wheels is nationally recognized for its commitment to addressing three of the biggest challenges in aging: hunger, isolation, and loss of independence. By supporting this program, we’re able to improve seniors’ quality of life, reduce hospital visits, and help them live longer, more fulfilling lives right here at home.

The Details

Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. is proud to provide Meals on Wheels (MOW) services to eligible older adults throughout our community. Meals on Wheels is designed to support seniors who may have difficulty preparing meals independently due to age, health, mobility, or other barriers that impact daily living.

To qualify for Meals on Wheels services through HSC, individuals must generally:

  • Be age 60 or older

  • Be homebound or have difficulty accessing regular meal preparation

  • Reside within the HSC service area

  • Complete required registration paperwork for grant and program reporting purposes

Meals provided through the program are supported in part through federal, state, local, and community funding sources. Registration is important, as only registered qualifying participants may be counted toward grant-supported meal services.

While priority is given to eligible seniors, HSC may also provide temporary or limited meal support to others based on available resources, recovery needs, caregiver support situations, or community partnerships.

Our goal is to help seniors maintain independence, improve nutrition, reduce isolation, and support healthy aging within the community. For more information about eligibility, meal delivery areas, or how to enroll, please contact Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. directly.
